24 Hour Fruit Salad For Spring

This is my daughter Jenny's favorite at holidays - especially Easter. My Aunt Winnie would always bring it for all of our family gatherings. Jenny would not know when her little tummy had had enough and therefore my daddy named it "Eat Till You Puke Salad". Not the most health conscious, but definitely the yummiest fruit salad ever. 24 Hour Fruit Sald 4 egg yolks, beaten juice of one lemon 1/2 cup milk 1 16 oz bag of miniature marshmallows 1 lb seedless grapes- halved 1 29 oz can pineapple chunks-drained 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/2 pint whipping cream-whipped with a few tablespoons sugar Combine egg yolks, lemon juice, and milk in top of a double boiler. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Cool. Combine marshmallows, grapes, pineapple, nuts, and cooked mixture, blending well. Refrigerate overnight. Fold in whipped cream and chill several hours. Enjoy!

1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix
1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
4 drops yellow food coloring
1 drop red food coloring
1 pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar, sifted (4 to 4-1/2 cups)
1 Tbsp. green colored sugar
5 OREO Cookies, divided
2 JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows, cut in half

Make It
PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for 24 cupcakes, blending dry pudding mix into batter before spooning into prepared cups. Cool completely.
BEAT cream cheese, butter, vanilla and food colorings in medium bowl with mixer until well blended. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until well blended.
ARRANGE cupcakes on large platter to resemble a stemmed pumpkin as shown in diagram; frost with cream cheese mixture. Use colored sugar to fill in the stem. Add 2 cookies for the jack-o'-lantern's eyes. Crush remaining cookies; sprinkle over cake for the mouth. Arrange marshmallow halves in mouth for the teeth. Keep refrigerated.

I first found this recipe on the Original Kraft Barbecue Sauce in the 1970's. It has been a favorite of my children and grandchildren through the years. The kids did not mind the onion and bell pepper as long as they are sauteed until nice and brown and no longer crunchy at all. Set a great back to school tradition with this recipe.

1 lb. Ground beef
1 Green pepper, chopped
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce
4 Hamburger buns
4 KRAFT Singles
Make It
BROWN meat in large skillet; drain. Add vegetables; cook and stir until tender.
STIR in barbecue sauce; cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.
FILL buns with meat mixture and Singles.

We're super excited about being next door to a great dance studio when we move at the end of the month. Slipper Cookies for Mother's Day

Hey kids, on Mother's Day after church while mom is resting and enjoying her afternoon nap, get Dad to help you make these fun and yummy slipper cookies.

To make a pair, first separate the 2 halves of an oval sandwich cookie (we used a Cameo) and remove the filling with a butter knife.
Next, slice a doughnut hole into thirds. Coat the rounded sides of the 2 end pieces with frosting (you can eat the middle piece), then roll them in shredded coconut tinted with red food coloring to create a pair of fuzzy slipper tops.
Use a dab of frosting to stick each slipper top to a cookie sole, then adorn the edges of the cookies with pink decorators' gel stitching.

They will be a fun no cook food project and are guaranteed to bring a big smile to mom's face.

We had such fun participating in the 1st Spring Luncheon and Fashion Show sponsored by the Girlfriends of First Baptist Church, Wauchula. Almost 100 ladies were in attendance and a delicious chicken salad lunch was served. Camping at Mosquito Lagoon

Four Dads took nine adventurous campers for a weekend trip to Mosquito Lagoon near New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The island is only navigated by boat and all of the water and food had to be transported by boat. I assume that due to the name, Mosquito Lagoon, the best time to camp is in the winter before the "skeeters" really begin to breed. Notice Mandy in the center pic, declaring their arrival at the Lagoon. I don't believe that she is wearing www.shopjellybeans.com for this trip. I've had heard from the moms that dirt is still surfacing from fingernails, ears, and that a little sand can be found in more than one head of hair. I want to thank all of the Dad's for a weekend that their children will remember fondly for a very long time.

In Disney's 1960 version, this happily shipwrecked family leads the life every child dreams of. The Swiss Family Robinson live in a fantastic treehouse that they build themselves, and have races riding their ostrich, zebra, and two massive Great Danes. They use rescued scraps from their ship and the bounty of the island to make ingenious, machines. (With the water slide and the swinging vines, the whole island looks suspiciously like a Disney theme park.) As if all that weren't enough, there's a tremendous pirate gun battle and sword fight, complete with elaborate booby traps.

Rent this great Disney film and enjoy it this weekend with your family-Little imaginations still need stirring-This movie is a classic that does not need modern special effects.
